Florida Volunteer Management
Certificate Program
Martin Volunteers periodically offers
training for managers of volunteers in our region. The next
round of classes will be held Sept. 11-Oct. 16, 2008, at Barry
University in Port St. Lucie, 337 SE Port St. Lucie Blvd. (map)
The six-module training program is designed to enhance the skills of individuals who manage volunteers, thereby promoting high-quality service delivery to volunteers and clients.
The core curriculum, which was developed by the Points of Light Foundation, includes the following modules:

Volunteer Program Planning

Volunteer Recruitment and Placement
-
Volunteer Training
-
Volunteer Supervision
-
Volunteer Program Evaluation
The six-week course has a nominal fee of $275, and
participants earn a certificate of accomplishment from the Florida Association
of Volunteer Centers.
