PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
In serving our clients, ESC/TC members
believe that a commitment to quality is central to all of their
activities. ESC/TC and its members will strive to provide
services that meet the highest standards of the consulting
profession. The chief characteristics of the professional
approach they bring to each consulting assignment are
competence, dedication, objectivity and integrity.
ESC/TC will accept only those assignments
that it believes it is qualified to undertake. Assignments will
be made on the basis of members training, experience, knowledge
and competence. ESC/TC consultants will provide only the
consulting services contracted.
ESC/TC consultants have an obligation to
conduct themselves so that actual or potential conflicts of
interest do not occur. An actual or potential conflict of
interest occurs when a volunteer solicits or enters a business
arrangement for profit as a result of work performed for ESC/TC’s
clients.
ESC/TC members will avoid actual or
perceived conflicts of interest by not serving as a board
member, employee, or volunteer for a client while serving that
client as a consultant. When a ESC/TC member serves as a board
member or as a volunteer for a client, ESC/TC may accept
consulting assignments from the client as long as the ESC/TC
board member/volunteer does not participate in the consulting
assignment.
ESC/TC will acknowledge to their clients
any circumstances which they believe might influence their
objectivity in carrying out an assignment. ESC/TC will offer to
withdraw from a consulting assignment when its objectivity,
freedom of independent analysis, or ability to make meaningful
recommendations may be impaired.
ESC/TC volunteers and staff are expected to
maintain the confidentiality of client information. All
information concerning the business and affairs of clients that
is gathered during the course of their professional assignments
as well as reports provided by ESC/TC is regarded as
confidential.
ESC/TC members may not accept fees,
honoraria or things of value as payment for services provided to
clients.
