Schools, businesses and
generous groups and individuals once again are filling
Toys for Tots boxes for the White Doves Holiday Project.
White Doves is on target to
serve more than 1,200 Martin County families with the
staples for a holiday meal, a ham or turkey, and toys
for their children.
Most of the toys come from
the Toys for Tots collection points, but a special
addition this year is the inaugural Holiday
Spirit Challenge among Martin County high school
students. The high school that collects the most toys
for White Doves will be awarded a traveling trophy – the
White Doves Holiday Project Spirit Challenge Award.
The
trophy will be awarded during the White Doves warehouse
grand opening. The free, public event is scheduled for
5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Martin County Fairgrounds.
There will be singing, refreshments and a visit from
Santa Claus.
During
the Toys for Tots drive, Toyota of Stuart will provide a
“Santa’s sleigh” of sorts. The dealership is donating
the use of a van so that White Doves representatives can
pick up toys from collection points and from
organizations that hold parties and toy drives among
their members or employees.
Following is the list of businesses that have been
authorized so far to be Toys for Tots collection points
this year. The public is urged to bring new, unwrapped
