way. Over the years, the massive
project brings the entire
community together to supply
thousands of families in need
with food and toys at the
holidays.
“The
leadership of this board is forging partnerships that
will hopefully make civic
engagement a common expectation
and wonderful experience in
Martin County,” said Carol
Hodnett, director of Martin
Volunteers. “People are anxious
to be engaged, and we are the
connector to make that happen.”
Martin
Volunteers is a program of
United Way of Martin County. It
conducts several major projects
every year -- such as the White
Doves Holiday Project, Executive
Service Corps and the School
Supplies for Students Drive --
but its main focus is connecting
people with meaningful volunteer
opportunities.
