Martin Volunteers
is helping several agencies find drivers
to assist children, senior citizens,
cancer patients and public safety.
-
The nonprofit
Hobe Sound Child Care Center has
long been in need of a volunteer
driver for its 30-passenger bus.
Days and hours would be flexible, as
the bus is needed primarily for
field trips. Without a driver, the
bus is sitting idle, hindering the
center’s ability to provide
enriching outside activities for its
youngsters.
-
The American
Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery
Program needs volunteer drivers to
take patients to and from their
treatments.
-
The Stuart
Police Department needs volunteers
to perform Citizens on Patrol
duties.
-
The Council on
Aging needs volunteers for its Meals
on Wheels program. New, year-round
helpers are vital to the program
because many Meals of Wheels
volunteers depart for the summer,
but clients are still in need.
