Signs Across Martin showcases Martin
Volunteers
PRESS RELEASE DATE: MAY 5, 2009
Local businesses and churches participated in the annual Signs Across Martin
event during National Volunteer Week April 19 to 25.
Participants changed their roadside signage to thank Martin Volunteers, a
program of United Way of Martin County, and all Martin County residents who
volunteer.
"Signs Across Martin was a great way for local businesses to show their
appreciation to the volunteers who make a difference in their community," Martin
Volunteers Director Carol Hodnett said.
"We were delighted that 15 businesses chose to say 'thank you' in a way that was
cost effective for them and will hopefully have a big return, as surveys
demonstrate that people will shop at businesses that give back to their
community."
The following businesses and churches participated: First United Methodist
Church, Safe & Sound Storage, Acclaim Real Estate, Frank Warren Insurance, Mad
Motorcycles, Best Western Stuart, Surf Central, Stuart Animal Hospital, The
Inside Story, NAPA Auto Supply of Stuart, YMCA of the Treasure Coast, Stuart
Alliance Church, Port Salerno Animal Hospital and Stuart Dairy Queen.
